FANGs for the memories...

Those Canberrites (and ex-canberrites) amongst you may remember a series of quality club-nights called FANG.

The work of Ben Henderson and his crew, the FANG evenings were some of the better events that the Canberran posse got to experience.

Now Melbourne is about to get a taste of FANG.

I recently caught up with Ben Henderson and spoke to him about FANG's move to Melbourne and his plans for the future. You can read the entire article here.

Here's hoping the Melbourne incarnation is as impressive as the Canberra ones were...

Now THAT'S what I consider frightening...

Forget Terrorism... Forget Communism... Forget Poverty... Forget SARS... The true world threat has now become apparent...

Jerry Springer - The Opera!

And what's more, it's going to Broadway! Oh gosh Jerry, you're gonna be a star.....

Surely this is one of the signs of the theatrical Apocalypse... I know the theatre scene has been struggling a little in America, but you've really got to wonder how low it's going to sink before it's all over. It fells a bit like the Titanic except there's no Leo and Kate in sight... Unless they've been sleeping with their crack-whore, transvestite cousins who have been lying about their race so they could get welfare that is....

Mmmmmm.... Ice Hockey....

I think I just figured out why I help pay for FOXTEL....

And America wonders...

Why people assume that America has no respect for other countries...

A $4000 fine? For what could have caused a major diplomatic/international incident? I get the feeling they're not taking this very seriously...

It is kinda funny though...

At last!

A break! I'm sure that you're all aware of how much I love my job, but three production weeks in a row is enough to test anybody's endurance. Needless to say, now that I've got two days off my body is breathing a sigh of relief.

Now I'm not a conspiracy nut (no really!), but somebody must have sent an e-mail around informing interested parties that I once again had time for things non-work related.

Case in point: I arrived home last night to find a package waiting for me... A package sent from Washington, USA! I opened it up and was delighted to find the latest Cyzilla mix CD. Recorded in a Kingston Kitchen during Cyzilla's recent return tour of Australia, it's very cool indeed, almost as cool as another mix that I've been listening to recently. I can't help but notice a certain amount of irony though, in the fact that a mix recorded in Kingston ACT, Australia has to travel to Washington DC, United States of America before it can be sent to me in Melbourne VIC, Australia. Global jet-setting CDs, what is the world coming to? Thanks heaps Cz, my entire household is scrambling for a listen...

The second piece of evidence that someone has sent around a memo is that I have been re-contacted by Neurocam. It seems to be more than coincidental that Robert Henley (who hasn't contacted me for three weeks) chose now to send me the following e-mail:

Hello again Graham,

I thought I would pass on this rather curious link. It seems as though Z has been doing a little snooping around of her own and has built an entire website about me. Fortunately I don't think any of the information could be useful to harm our organisation but you never know....

http://www.new-media.com.au/index2.htm

Robert

Very curious... It would seem that "Z" is attempting to discredit or intimidate (impersonate????) Robert for some reason... I haven't had time to really examine the websites contents in detail, but once I have I will let you know what my thoughts are.

That's all for now. Sharn and I are off to see "Kill Bill vol. 2"... Provided she can remember what I look like...

Pets, Pets, Pets...

Long time, no blog. Sorry if you've been in withdrawal, work has been a touch crazy over the last few weeks (now there's an understatement). Normal blogging will resume shortly, but in the mean time here's a little something to tide you over...

A while ago I told you about the newest pet sensation to hit America - "Glofish", the genetically-modified, glow-in-the dark fish that you could own. I was pretty stoked by the concept of genetically-modified fish and, truth be told, if I thought they'd be capable of surviving the Australian Post system I wouldn't hesitate to order some.

At the time I was convinced that Glofish were the coolest pet possible, but I must have been just young and naive because it would now appear that I was wrong. It's time to send your Glofish to porcelain heaven, because there's a new super-pet in town!

Feeling a little tubby? Concerned about those extra Easter-egg kilos? Don't worry, those excess pounds can now be considered a pet!

My Pet Fat is the newest in hip (and thigh!) pets for the global trendsetter!

It's a wonder that no-one thought about this before... McDonalds could be giving them away with their happy-meals. Hell, McDonalds could be giving them away AS their happy meals.

And, what's more, they double as a stress-ball! No more kicking the family cat (unless you want to...)!

I know what I'll be wanting as a XMAS present this year... My Pet Fat! YAY!

Or maybe I'll just have it for XMAS lunch...

Happy Easter!

It's like this:

Yesterday I had a day off. To celebrate I read my book, surfed the net, went to breakfast on Brunswick Street, went to a movie with Sharn, and ate lots of ice cream.

Today I'm back teching "Urinetown" and that day off already seems so long ago.

Oh well, only 21 days until my next day off...

Maybe I should look for a different career... Maybe there's an opening as an Easter Bunny somewhere...

Did you hear that?

Surely you heard that from where you are sitting... That loud rushing sound... That near-deafening roar of satisfaction... What was it? My brain and body sighing with relief.

Why? I've got a day off.

It's been a huge week at work. I was racing against the clock to get everything prepped and packed so that it could be loaded onto a truck to go to the theatre. I made it... just... but now I'm in a sort of limbo, the calm before the storm if you will...

Starting tomorrow we begin the actual bump in of "Urinetown". What does that mean? It means two weeks straight of 8am until 11pm... Ouch! So, as you can no doubt imagine, I'm savoring my day off.

So, what am I up to? Well I started the day with breakfast at the Fitz Cafe on Brunswick street, where I spent a good hour reading "The Sorrows of Empire" by Chalmers Johnson. It's an amazing (and eye-opening) account of the rise of militarism in America over the last century. I highly recommend it to anyone who is paying attention.

From there I headed off to "Chainsaw Massacre" for a long-overdue haircut. Just for the record, I'm extremely happy with the result.

The rest of the day will be spent relaxing... and probably downloading...

Cynan has managed to add to my quality of life considerably by pointing me to an amazing site where there are numerous Hybrid, Way Out West and Nubreed downloads.... Thanks dude!

That's about to report for now... I'll try to put up the occasional post over the next two weeks to let you know how "Urinetown" is going, but don't be surprised if this site's a little quite over that time... See ya soon.
